Biography
Professor Baziar’s research activities are mainly in the field of soil
dynamics including liquefaction, lateral spreading, seismic behavior of
earth dams and site effects. He is internationally known for using soft
computing methods such as artificial neural network and genetic
programming for explaining many earthquake phenomenas such as
liquefaction and lateral spreading. He is a member of permanent
committee on Iranian earthquake design code. He is the author of soil
dynamics book (in persian) which has been widely used by graduate
students. He has collaborated with many internationally known
researchers such as professor Towhata, professor Merrifield and
professor Javadi. He is also reviewer for many journals such as ASCE,
Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering, Soil Dynamics and
Earthquake Engineering, Computers and Geotechnics.
